Cover design for the fourth issue of CEVICHE DE SANDÍA MAGAZINE. All of the elements in the cover are hand-made paper sculptures of pizza slices and ingredients. We have created three illustrated covers for the magazine’s past issues, but this time we wanted to explore something different, and paper is one of our favorite mediums due to its accessibility and delicate aesthetic. Paper is such a versatile crafting material and allows for a wide range of techniques: it can be folded, curved, bent, cut, glued, molded, stitched, or layered. Paper craft is the collection of art forms employing paper or card as the primary artistic medium for the creation of one, two or three-dimensional objects. Paper sculpture being the most difficult to master because it involves drawing, design and complex interlocking pattern making skills. The result was an eye-catching cover that has become very popular in Madrid, Spain, where the magazine is distributed. We are also responsible for the art direction, editorial design and all of the illustrations included in the magazine.
